Hi

I've posted about this s few times. It's currently Day 13 on Zoloft. 50 mg. The side effects are ruthless. HORRIBLE derealization, anxiety, panic attacks, nausea, can't concentrate, light sensitivity, etc. i feel like it's making my OCD worse. I'm getting really mixed messages on whether or not I should discontinue it.. I really am struggling with these side effects, I can't stay home alone, I can't eat, shower, walk, and overall just feel horrible..

Pls give me your opinions as well as stories and advice on tis drug. 🙏

Zoloft took 8-9 was to kick in for me. I had the same side effects and it was horrendous but I powered through since these are common, although horrible, side effects. It DOES get better!! Can you get something from your physician to help you in the meantime? Like Xanax or Klonopin?

My psychiatrist refuses to prescribe me benzo's because with my OCD I'd become addicted to it. It feels like my body physically cannot handle this drug. Idk what to do 😓

Hi I’m the same situation as you . I’ve still got all these symptoms and I’ve been on 100mgs for the past 81/2wks with no progress. I’m really trying to wean myself off now and going back on my old 1s which r paroxatine. I just hope they kick again once I start taking them. 🌹

    Hi,

Day 13 is very early days ... I’m on 50mg week 6 as from tomorrow. I remember up to week 2/3 noticeable side effects but they do get better .... I feel 70% better and the anxiety attacks didn’t come back after week 2. The only issue I still have is intrusive thoughts and mildish anxiety and not feeling myself - lots of people say 6-8 weeks till it levels out so I’m positive it’s just a waiting game !!! I would give it at least 4 weeks before judging it maybe longer ! Hope you feel better soon smile

Hi Phil I’ve been on 100mgs now for the past 81/2 wks with little progress. I’m aving bad panick attacks, that horrible knot feeling in my stomach and still can’t sleep. I’ve still got bad depersonalisation and feeling detached from myself and my luv1s. It’s so scary my mind is just doing overtime I can’t seem to switch off . I’m really thinking of tapering off these and going back on paroxatine. Any advice or reassurance please 🌹

Hi, I am in the 5th week- increased to 50 mg 2 weeks ago and still have side effects but it is getting better. In the first 2 weeks it was horrible, panics anxiety, ocd, and many other effects. But try to stick on it and believe that they will be over soon. It really works for me and my mood is fine. I only have a racing heart on these days which is the other side effect but it is also going better.

    Update.

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling numb, and overall just wrong. I knew something wasn't right. I went to the hospital where I was diagnosed with serotonin syndrome. It'd now day two of admission. They stopped all meds and are using ivs to flush it all oht. Then start fresh with meds in a few days I guess. Xx

    Update 2:

Day 5 in the hospital. They've flushed all of my medications out of my system. I restarted Zoloft and take Ativan for panic attacks. I just started eating again today. Felt nauseous afterwards. I will soon start cloznepam and risperdal
