Hi sorry to hear you are suffering. I can totally relate to your situation I have a young child and no support. I prefer to be off the pills as I can't deal with the side effects and makes it impossible to even function. The only thing I can advise really is staying in the warm, reducing any activities you would normally do if you do and rest more. While my son is at school I rest to be able to function for when he gets home from school. This condition is so fustrating. Hope you find something to make you feel better x

Know the feeling I can't take any drugs either. Have you tried Bio Freeze for the aches and pains. My chiropractor put me onto it and it's amazing. Just rub it on and wait for it to work. Can't work out whether it makes me feel hot or cold but I suppose it is supposed to be cold according to the name!   Hot baths with dead sea salt or epsom salts help too, but don't put the Bio freeze on directly after or before a bath because it seems to intensify the results.  Hot water bottles and wheat bags also help.  I hate it when it gets colder as it just makes everything worse.  Fingers crossed for an early Spring!

I use some of the same remedies as maggers. My chrioprractor gave me bio freeze too. They use it before working on my physical therapy. Gave me some to take home for those bad days. It has helped.

I too take detox baths. Baking soda with Epsom salt. Helps relax the muscles. I use the one with lavender to help me relax before bed.

Magnesium is also a godsend. Take 2 at night to keep the leg cramping and restless leg away.

I also take sam e. Helps with mood and joint pain. Helps me get through days when kids don't want to listen. I don't snap.

As for energy, you can take d-ribose, b12, or D.

There areally many options to chose from. Meds had severe side effects for me. And when caring for little ones you don't want to be so drugged you're not present. You just need to research and find what's best for you. Chances are we have tried it and can give you feed back about it.

Best of luck and hope you feel better!

Remember that supplements and anything else you take to have an effect are "meds", just the same as ones from the doctor. They're chemicals that have a functional impact on your body mechanisms.

But if it's just Lyrica and Pregabalin you get side effect from, try a different prescription. Effexor (venlafaxine) is an SNRI and works well in fibromyalgia. Many studies find it just as effective. It's available in generic now so much cheaper than the other two. Some get side effects and some don't. It helps with depression, anxiety, and at higher doses, pain.

Hi Pollmadoll; I, too, found too many side effects from Lyrica and Cymbalta: so i have stayed with my Amitriptylline for at night (It is very good for the "burning pain" that I get with my muscles when the weather changes).  The other med that I find helps me when needed is Gabapentin (I don't need to take this Every day).

?As the others have said, Magnesium supplements are very essential, if you suffer from "the numbness/tingling of legs when you lie down at night".  I take 2 each night, and certainly do assist, as I know how bad I get if I cease taking same.  The other thing I use for this problem, is the wearing of TED stockings at night.  They are meant's to Increase circulation, and I know this is not a Listed symtom, but really do help with this problem, too.  The baths are an extra benefit, as just seem to help with our relaxation and muscle/s pain. Other supplements are Vit B12 and sometimes I take extra Multi-vitamins, especially in the warmer months of the year.   The other thing that I find Very helpful, is regulare Physio/Remedial massages.   I know that if I get out of the habit of going on a regular basis, my muscles get a Lot worse.

?Hoping that you find some of this advice helpful...............best luck,   Bron
