Horrible Vasectomy experiance

I had a Vasectomy done years ago and still feel the pain on both sides. After the surgery my energy level dropped and fell tired all the time. The surgery practically ruined my life.

Hi James
Sadly you're not alone in this, up to 32% on global figures & 10% on we'll not tell patient NHS figures.
Pain this long after procedure obviously shouldn't be occurring and you'll need to get to GP / Dr to get it diagnosed.
There's not a whole host of treatment options that really work in controlling pain in that area but that's not to say one won't work for you, so get to GP, get diagnosed and get the meds rolling to try and find one that helps you.
Take care

im 55, Had mine 12 years ago. Testosterone went from 750 to 280 in 3 months, energy mood all downhill, started gaining weight. Started T replacement after 1 year but most GPs don't know anything about hormone control. It took me a ton of research and 2 more years to get my Testosterone levels good because no good endocrinologists in town. Used a lot of bodybuilding forums to get T info, those guys were very nice and helpful, they've been doing T for decades.
Pain started about 2 weeks after clip, had it ever since. Did all the antibiotics ect, no relief. Pain mostly in left testicle tail of epididymis. Pain is in both sides though. Left side goes from average 2 to 6 (3 average) on and off across every 3 months, 6 about 4 times a year (scale 0-10). Right side 1-2 always 3 a couple times a year. Epididymis grew to 3 times its normal in about 6 months after clip, vas is also about 4 times its normal size.
No major crazy swelling for 9 years then left tail of epididymis started having swelling size of small marble about once every 4-6 months now. Was on antibiotics for 2 weeks, swelled for 2 weeks then got ultrasound. As soon as technician put ultrasound on balls i felt relief in minutes. After clip I was originally in pain level 6 for about 2 months when i decided to start massaging my epi every morning and night and my wife started massaging every morning and night and soaking in hot tub during massages. Helped a lot, pain went down to current levels 2-3. if I don't massage pain goes up every time. Ive been wanting to get reversal for 10 years but cant afford.

I started losing weight after starting T because my energy was up. But T replacement gives me (a little) an edgy almost animalistic hornyness. My wife notices but puts up with me. Mood and energy are great, no aggressiveness problems. I inject 0.38 cc of 200mg/ Test CYP or 76cc of T every 4 days. This almost eliminates highs and lows in my T level. My T is around 650 so its not my levels. I've tried adjusting my T level from 800-500 but 800 is too high and 500 im losing energy again. My testicles started shrinking after 1 year of T, it was scary. This is because T shuts down your balls. Through research (bodybuilding forums ect) I found HCG restores and maintains testicle size and also raises natural T levels.

You probably need to get your GP to refer you back into Urology. I had the same experience, it's a LOT more common than is discussed. The NHS were a disaster to treat, and I went private 8 months in with a PVPS experienced urologist.
I reversed at 1 year post surgery as I was scared for my job, which was quite radical, but better than not being able to look after my family.
There is a post vasectomy pain specific discussion forum here:

This blog is also very well worth reading:

Strictly layman's experience from my own treatment experiences, NOT medical advice in any way.
The treatment ramp is usually:
Pain Relief : assorted pain killers
Neuro pain relief: gamabentin, tricyclics
Surgery: reversal (seems most successful), nerve stripping or epi removal (seem riskier, less successful). Open ended conversation ( sperm granuloma pain risk)
You may very be able to get to a good place with pain relief only however.
Good luck getting it resolved, my "pain cave" year was truly dreadful stuff.
Some stats, occurrance rates and causes, I bet your vasectomy consent literature prob did not provide, mine certainly did not:
Royal College of Surgerons of England reference stating 15% rate is here:

British Association of Urological Surgeons, patient advice reports chronic pain in 5-15% of patients.
