How bad is Diabetes at 11.3% ?

I would like some serious suggestions. This is for my father, who is 50 years old. Today I got a to know that he has diabetes

If that is an A1c test then yes, 11.3% is quite high and has been high for some time. The A1c is an average of the blood glucose over the past 3 months. Normal is about 6%. Best to follow doctor's advice for treatment. Untreated, diabetes is a serious disease.
