How can i gain weight with stomach issues?

Posted , 17 users are following.

Hey just a quick question, i have lost almost 10lbs in the last 6 months of being unwell, and my stomach issues make it difficult to eat a lot of foods, I'm only 9st 3lbs which is too skinny in my opinion and alot of people have been saying how thin i look recently. I still have a decent appetite i just can't eat certain things without pain. I have been diagnosed with gastritis/duodenitis but they don't know the cause yet. I just was wondering if any foods would be easy on the stomach and help me gain weight maybe?

My diet at the moment consists of things like bran flakes cereal, pasta, yoghurt, chicken, fish such as salmon/tuna etc. And the drinks easy on my stomach are water and i drink whole milk. Was just wondering if those things are good or not and if there is any other suggestions, thanks smile

    Hi all,

Me too having digestive disorder for two years now. I have been dieting like oily foods, diary, junk, meat, fish, egg and spicy but still didn't improve and keeps stomach whole day bloated inside though stomach looks flat but good thing is i don't have pain. I have been lost around 20ks in  a year and its hard to recognize me by old friends. I consulted GI specialist and happy to know that i am have mild gastritis and slightly lactose intolerance only. But i am thinking  there is something wrong with my stomach/intestine. I tried FODMAP as well as Herbal medicine and it too didn't work. I fell more bloated when i stand or walk i don't know why?.   Now its about three weeks i am trying raw milk after friends suggested for the weight gain but i doesn't seen any difference with my symptoms. So do you all think that i should continue taking milk? please help me and also do you have any idea, what foods to help weight gain with this symptoms? I always pray and hope all of us to get back to the normal health as one person told me that he recovered after three years having such symptoms but he was followed very trick died. Once again i pray to all who have such symptoms to get well soon. Best of luck

      Hello Sangay

I can definately understand what you are going through. I've been trying to gain my weight back but having a very hard time. I've been drinking protein drinks but now i can't drink them because they give me the runs and they are the organic ones. Before, they didnt bother me but now i can't drink them. Because of the strict diet that we must follow makes it very difficult to gain weight but easy to lose.

I found this product online called weigh gain really good reviews and the ingredients are all natural. I've been taking it for almost 3 weeks now and i really thought that it was working. I had a dr. appt a few days ago and took my weight and I've lost almost 3 more pounds. I think because of the strict diet, I'm still not getting enough calories. It could be maybe we are not absorbing the nutrients. Have you done other testing such as vitamin dificiencies? Are you take any digestive enzymes and probiotics? Are you taking a good multi vitamin?

I honestly have no solution to all your problems, as I have been struggling with similar issues for almost 3 months now. Woke up one day feeling very tired and nauseus, with a runny tummy. the runny tummy is now on and off. I'm also bloated all the time, and pass a lot of gas. I have lost about 5 kgs in the space of 3 months. Fortunately I seem to not be losing anymore, but eating is still a struggling. I have done blood tests, and both colonoscopy and endoscopy, and nothing was found. Doctor then diagnosed me with IBS and gastritis. Oh, I forgot to mention the heartburn. My appetite is at an all time low. To date, I still have no idea what to eat and what not to eat. Your stories have really helped allay my fears of undiagnosed cancers. I have good and bad days, and today was one of the bad. My family thinks I am hypondriac. Overall, I'm very frustrated. Wish somebody could prescribe something to perk up my appetite.

Wish all of you speedy recovery.

i understand how you feel. Personally, every once in awhile ill eat some weed and that perks up my appetite alot. Maybe give it a try. Sometimes its just nice to enjoy food again, without thinking about what you can have

    Dear Riggs,

You can always drink some sport protein cocktails and go info sports that will definitely allow you to gain weight.

As well, two days old brad and potatoes (not fried of course) will help you.
