How can I quit taking Xanax? Just read somewhere that it can lead to seizures and I am freaking out

i am 23 years old man, and due to my weird symptoms or panic attacks I've used Xanax 0.25 mg twice daily (mostly two one after one) and it would ease my symptoms, I take them after I take my 50mg sertraline daily. but if I refuse to take them I think that unpleasant symptoms appear and I feel like I cannot function without them. how can I stop taking it and can there be anything serious if I continue using them? I have been taking them for 7 months now

Xanax is considered safe if taken as directed and for short periods of time.

When somebody becomes addicted to Xanax, there can be withdrawal symptoms that range from mild to dangerous.

if A person takes Xanax at high doses, which you are not doing, they can have more serious withdrawal symptoms that could possibly include seizures. it usually occurs with people who have taken Xanax for a long period of time at a high dose.

there Are rare times when somebody has had a seizure in a much shorter amount of time at the prescribed dose..

talk to your doctor about how to stop taking it if that’s what you want to do. You’re going to be OK.
