how can I tell if a para esophageal hernia has reoccurred?

in the last several months I have been experiencing some mild indigestion but also very odd gurgling sounds in my lower intestines and stomach when I take a quick deep breath or cough. it comes and goes and is not painful at all. my doctor said my lungs are fine so it is not that. anyone else experience this? I am worried that my para esophageal hernia has come back. I had very successful surgery 5 years ago and an x ray via a barium swallow a year ago showed it as still perfectly intact. thoughts? Nan
