How do I deal manage the symptoms of my hiatus hernia and still be a good mom and wife

Posted , 3 users are following.

I have been struggling with acid reflux, under left rib pain and burning since September last year...had many blood tests done and all came back clear but I tested positive for h pylori which I got treatment for. The pain went away for a bit but was still not feeling 100%. fast forward to yesterday I got an endoscopy done which confirmed a small hiatal hernia and gerd. I m worried I will not be the fun mom I once was or the interesting wife I was. I am a 35 year old mother of 3 kids aged 9,and 2.

Sorry for the long post but I need help.

    Hi Christelle,

i was diagnosed with both hiatius hernia and gerd too, I have no pain which I find strange as everyone else says they have. They put me on Omeprazole and peptac twice a day. When you say you have gerd, do you get the excessive sour taste in your mouth, I have had it a year now and lost 2 1/2 stone. I eat very little as I was told no chocolate, fried foods etc plus I do not drink now but I am not getting any better. I hope you find yourself getting better soon take care 🙂

      Hi lynn!

I don't get the sour taste in my mouth a lot but I have bad chest pain everytime I burp. It burns and hurts a lot.

How long have you been on omeprazole? I am one week in but I still get chest discomfort though it is a lot better than what I got last week.

I hope this is my way to recovery.

Keep taking your meds . It will get better.

I wish you all the best lynn.
