How do I find a Competent GP

Posted , 2 users are following.

I am no longer registered with a GP through my own choice. I found the Practice I had been with since birth becoming dangerous tat. I am looking for something more consumer friendly. I will not tolerate rude and stereotyping GPs.

That's a tough one. I believe that the area in which you live plays the total deciding part in being allocated a GP, as it was when we moved here in 1996. It may be different now though, so just check online for the terms and conditions of choosing a GP, or being allocated one. Best of luck.

If you want to move GP then you just find the one you want to move to, talk to the receptionist and (if they're open to new patients) fill in a form,, the NHS choices site displays reviews of your local GP practices smile

My, things have changed since we had to register with a GP. Glad to hear it too. Hope the original poster, alex 13670, will soon get sorted.

Doctors that look fresh, are fresh.

You can take a self-challenge. First you research your condition, then you goto a new doctor, and see what he says with possible outcomes. For example, one of my docs new, i know my condition and all the treatment(s) to expect but she missed short of one or two treatments available for this condition. And I also had another doctor who was new in the same practice treated me for the same condition but he knew about one treatment she didnt know about.

There was another fresh doc, he once gave me a cream that had a vital missing ingredient which another doctor didnt, the only difference was the packaging was identical
