How do I properly apply ear drops, they stay in my ear when I do and when I get up they leak out.

So I went to my ENT today because of tinnitus and they told me I have a 'dry' inflammation of the ear, they prescribed ear drops and nose drops, I really cannot remember a lot of what she said, well, a lot except the part when she said that it can escalate and get more dangerous. I just put my ear drops in but they stayed in my ear for a while and I got up and they leaked out. I am really worried, my ears are still ringing and I do not know what to do, do I check in again or do I apply them in a different way, I know how to apply them and I am following the usual guidelines however I am still worried. Please, I would be very grateful if someone could answer, and what does 'dry inflammation' really mean

Hi, Harun! In answer to your first question, it is normal, in my experience and what doctors have told me, for ear drops to leak out of the ear cavity.
You said that you use it the right way, but just in case, I'll tell you how I've always been instructed to do it: drip the amount of drops indicated by the doctor into the ear cavity, plug the canal with a small clean cotton ball, and lie with your head in the same position (treated ear up) for at least 5 minutes. After you stand up, naturally the excess fluid will drain away.
Now, as for dry inflammation, I have no idea. Wouldn't it be a buildup of wax perhaps? Maybe you should talk to your doctor again. Get well!
