How do I tell my mom my boyfriend and I have genital herpes?

My boyfriend and I have been together for a year and a half, we got serious quickly. He was diagnosed with genital herpes about 6 months ago and I chose to stay. We've been trying to have a baby, even before the diagnosis. So we didn't use protection unless an outbreak was present. I just experienced my first outbreak a week ago, I was tested and i was positive for the STD. I knew it was coming, I basically asked for it. I don't believe it's set in yet, the realization pops in my head at random. It's not something I care to think about. I've researched and I'm an expect on the STD now. However, my mother and I are very close. I'm still on her health insurance and we see the same MD. I feel like I need to tell her. But how can I tell her the story without her hating my boyfriend for allowing me stay with him? How can I tell her without her thinking I wanted this? Please help.

Just tell her hun its nobodies fault chances are you had it before your first outbreak it was just dormant these things do happen its not the end of the world and there are worse things to have thats how i cope with it.

Your mum might be really supportive your bf only found out 6 months ago so he cant be blamed if he never knew and tbh leaving him wont change anything.

Just sit her down and explain everything even bring it up on google and let her read through it herself good luck hun x

Thank you, I appreciate it. I hope she takes it well, it's certainly life altering. Next time is to make an appt with my OB to figure out if getting pregnant is a wise decision.

No mum wants their kids to have these things but it happens just got to make the best of it when i was diagnosed with it all i thought about is my 3 year old girl and if id passed it onto her they told me that i hadnt had an outbreak so didnt know i had it everything was fine and i could have passed antibodies on to her instead they said that aslong as you dont have an outbreak in late pregnancy or labour baby will be fine but because you know they can keep an eye on you if you do have an outbreak in labour they will give you a c section as thay dont want baby touching the blisters but talk with them theyll put your mind at rest you will be fine hun x
