How do I tell my parents?

Hi! I'm a teenager who has been experiencing symptoms that point towards a deadly disease. I've been doing what I'm not supposed to be doing: Asking Dr. Google. I can't help it, though. I'm scared to visit a real doctor.

It mainly revolves around a big lump on the side of my knee and the pains I've been experiencing in my legs. The symptoms I've been experiencing can easily be related to other conditions, but even after telling myself I'm being ridiculous and checking just about every condition listed, the symptoms of that deadly disease still seem the most fitting.

Today has been horrible. I spent some time with my family and I couldn't bear seeing them have fun. I love them all so much.....And I only have so much time left....

Please, someone, tell me how I tell my parents about my symptoms. I know I need to get myself checked. And I know my survival chances grow slimmer as I sit here doing nothing. How do I accept my diagnosis when it's happened? How do I face my family when all this is going on?

    Hello

Just because yo have a lump does not mean you have a growth. Most lumps are Lipomas, these lumps are full of fluid and little pieces of fat. I have had several and they can be drained or removed quite quickly

Our dog just had one looked at and the Vet just drained some of it and checked the fluid, we had a diagnosis in about two mins and now Pax s lump seems to be disappearing.

Get the thing looked at, they will send the fluid away and you will get your results very quick

Google is very scary...  Even I have to be careful and not get all worked up.   You are not a doctor and neither is google.  The body is a very complicated machine. Calmly ask your parents to make an appointment for you to see a doctor because you are concerned about a lump on your knee.  They love you and will want to get it checked out as well.

And yes, there has been a couple times were I was super scared and  required tests.  But in the end there wasn't anything wrong at all and I freaked out for no reason!

I know it's scary, but your parents love you too and would want you to tell them. Google is not the place to get a diagnosis. Often it is nothing serious and going to your own doctor will put your mind at ease. Please tell your parents and go to the doctor.
