How do you call this in England?

Hello

I'm new to the forum, i'm note sure if this is the correct place to ask, 

I'm translating a CV for my mother who wants to apply to become a GP in the UK, and i'm having trouble translating from italian "Continuità Assistenziale". This two words indicate here in Italy the job of a GP that is done by another doctor on saturdays, sundays, holydays, pre-holidays and throughout the nights of the whole week. Literally, it could be translated as "Continuity of care/assistance" as its purpose is to fill the gaps left by standard GPs.

I was hoping someone could tell me if there is any exact correspondance in english to this phrase,

    No. This is for medical matters. There are translators on the internet. Google for them.

    Welcome Amadeo, I don't agree with what Jaguar has said.  I think you have asked a reasonable question in the chatroom.  I hope someone else will be able to make a suggestion for you.

    I can't think of an appropriate term apart from the position of a locum, who would cover any timespan.
