Hello,

In a nut a shell I’ve neen taking this drug for approx 18 months it’s worked wonders for me.

I still have the odd wobble but that’s life. I went through a stage of thinking I would never come off these tablets I was too scared to even contemplate it. I’m now thinking about reducing my dose and attempting to come off them because I feel like I’m taking th m now because I always have, I’ve also experienced a few missed doses recently and felt a little more alert and I’m curious to now come off the drug and see how I am. For those that have been on the drug found it worked for you do you have any experience of being off the drug and when you knew it was fine to come off it ?? Thanks xxxx

I came off after around 18 months at 100mg. The first few weeks were really great i was almost buzzing i was in such a good move. This was around January. I fully stopped taking sertraline around February. But in April i started having crazy anxiety and panic attacks (i had never had anxiety or panic attacks ever before) and I also developed pretty bad insomnia and ended up on a different medication that made me suisidal so now im back on sertraline haha!

I did feel that I was great after quitting sertraline the first time, i just didnt have enough of a support system to compensate for the medication. I didnt eat well, exercise or do anything for my well being. I then started a new job and couldnt handle the stress. If youre comfortable in your job, lead a healthy lifestyle i think coming off sertraline will be great. But if youre a slob like me who has job insecurity and a tattered personal life then maybe stay on the meds.
