How do your PACs/PVCs feel?

Hey all,
I've been having PACs and PVCs for about 5 years now, 21yo M who doesn't drink, smoke or do drugs (but I do have anxiety :p )
Anyway I wanted to talk to some people first hand about how theirs feels as I don't know anybody in real life who experiences these, so experiences would help ease my fear.
Mine kind of feel like a thump and then I get a massive anxiety rush and my heart beats faster, sometimes it will be mild and it feels more like someone presses on my heart for a second. But the big ones are like someone punches my heart and I have to recover, I'm a little worried it is Afib and not just benign PAC's/PVC's. I've had an ECG about 2 weeks ago and nothing showed, no hyper or hypothyroidism on my bloods, I have a 24 hour monitor tomorrow and I am considering having caffeine because the last time I had a monitor they barely even showed up.
Thanks in advance.

it's not easy. The last time I ended up in the ER they were so bad. The ER doctor told me only I could stop the PVC'S meaning I needed to control my stress and anxiety. So I made a few calls and got some counseling. That helped alot. I also went to my Dr. and he changed my beta blocker meds. That helped lots too. I also insisted I see a cardiologist. So now I'm waiting on that. I hope you get some relief soon. Sometimes writing down your anxiety and what would make you feel better helps. Cut you caffeine and get lots of rest, exercise, and fresh air. Good luck! It will get better.

Im so relieved to have found this. I have been struggling with what I've been calling "heart chokes" for about 3 years. It started when I was 25 and fell into an intense depression, insomnia, shocks in my chest at night, and intrusive thoughts of death. Once i started to recover, that's when the heart stuff started.
Since then I've gotten all the tests done, and they've all looked normal.
It truly is a disgusting feeling and when they are at their worst, it's truly terrifying; Like my heart stops, absolute dread consumes me for a moment, and then my heart races for a bit, i feel dizzy, weak, and I feel my blood pulse into my limbs.
Over the years, im 28 now, I have been going to CBT and it's helped a little. The most interesting thing I tried was microdosing psilocybin for 2 months and that seemed to help quite a bit.
Overall, they have become more tolerable, but I'm afraid they'll never go away.
Stay strong and know you're gonna be okay.

A bit late to the party. My PAC, I keep describing to my wife as someone poking my heart several times a minute at times and getting that flutter. Impossible to ignore at times especially when laying down. I'm currently going through a process of trying to find a possible cause, cutting out certain foods one by one and trying to reduce stress to see if that helps.
Must admit I'm quite inactive at the moment and I've read that this can also cause them to happen - its catch 22 though, as I've read throughout this forum actually feeling the palpitations can put you off doing exercise as they feel horrible.
Very frustrating.

I've been suffering with PVC's since I was in my 20's! I'm 45 now and I've had various test, like MRI scans, ECG's.....the list goes on. Everything came back as normal and I've been told it something I have to live with. My heart feels like it skips a beat, then does a massive beat to catch up followed by a massive rush of anxiety. Mine are really bad at the moment, and I'm getting them everything 1 to 2 minutes all day. I am wondering if it's hormone related or my age, but all I know is it's driving me insane. Also, I've noticed this time I can feel it more in my stomach? Has anyone else had this strange feeling in their stomach?

Hello,
I am a 63 year old male. This PVC started all of a sudden 2 years ago. At first, this only happened for 20 to 30 minutes where I would have a missed beat after every 2 or 3 or 4 beats, but then it would stop. But the frequency of missed beats gradually increased, and now I have PVCs all day every day. After every 2 beats I have a missed beat, and this happens day and night without stopping. Sometimes, it becomes less frequent after 5, 10, 20 beats, but it returns to the 2 beat pattern again. When this happens, I have a lot of pain in my chest and it feels like a stabbing pain, and sometimes when I have too much PVCs, I feel suffocation and light feeling of shortness of breath. Sometimes when I have pvcs, I feel light stabbing pain but not the shortness of breath. whenever I go to the doctor, they tell me I have PVCs in my ECG but the oxygen level is normal and that this is benign. My chest x-rays, blood tests, echos are all normal. I even had an angiography, and everything was clear. They say not to worry about the condition, and try to forget about it.
If anyone is able to share more of your experience with me, it will re-assure me that other people are experiencing the same thing as me and reduce my worry. Thank you.

hi jesse81655 and everyone how are you feeling now. Im new here. i too am suffering with these weird heart feelings like a strong heart beat then a pause, sometimes a pause then a strong heartbeat and flutters etc i had them about 5 years ago for a few months then got pregnant and they magically disappeared but now they are back with a vengeance. I I've had 2 24 hour monitors which picked up nothing other than a fast heartrate at times I've also had an echocardiogram which was normal I'm waiting on a 7 day ecg monitor but don't know how long that will be with the current waiting times. I'm just so scared everyday I try not to let anxiety take over but it's easier said than done I can't talk to family ect as they don't understand my partner just says its heart palpitaions get over it but when it happens you can't. I've noticed they seem to happen ore when I sat back with my daughter asleep on my chest or when I'm moving about but when I'm sat forward I dont feel them. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I guess im just looking for someone to talk about it as I'm stuck with my own thoughts as no one else understands.

I am 64 years old and suffered from anxiety all my life as young as 13 I remember. It has gotten worse as I aged and it seems like NOW I can't handle any stress as I use to pride myself on how much patience and challenges I could endure. I use to get occasional palpitations once or twice a year mostly at rest and never thought about it. Up until recent, I never had PVCs/PACs and I get them in the throat - not in the chest which is more irritating and bothersome than the chest. Sometimes I think a series of fast palpitations are better for a few seconds and not having them again for the rest of the day is better than every few minutes thud and then double thud escalating into anxiety as I already have anxiety continuing to make this a vicious circle. I noticed this got worse after taking the 2nd dose of Pfizer. I am wondering if those shots have done this. I never had PVCs before until after this. I would have occasional racing heart once or twice a year, but nothing like this. My mother was the same age when she developed AFIB but her's was different as her hear would race up to 230 beats per minute. She finally had the catheter abrasion and she never had it again. As for me, the doctor says it is anxiety induced and not to worry about it. He says it is at 12% which is not enough to think about an invasive procedure as the abrasion. I also read that the abrasion does not work on everyone and I wonder being mine is attributed to anxiety and my mothers was just outright AFIB that it might not work for me. Has anyone had a catheter abrasion due to anxiety and it got rid of these things? I also find myself constantly hyperventalating as no matter doing breathing exercises or using the vagus manuever I still feel breathless even when I don't feel the PVCs coming on. I have not taken beta blockers as I read a lot of the forums and they really don't help. Also, if you stop, I think it may make them worse. It lowers your blood pressure and I am not liking the idea of that. I like to hear some answers if anyone was able to overcome them and how with anxiety. Like some people have said on this forum, they may disappear for a little time and then they are back. I felt good for 3 months and now they are back with a vengenace! And having them makes the anxiety worse. Who the hell wants to live with this? I feel for some of you younger people as this only started to become a nusance in the last two years. Unlike my mother, she was lucky to go through the abrasion which was pushed on her, my doctor will not advise me to do it as he sees no need and he says live with it. Again, not sure if I found a doctor to do it, if with the ANXIETY would permanently go away or would they come back a year later in spite of the procedure. Any comments are welcome about this.
