How does Serttraline make u feel?

Hi,
I'm wondering how people are feeling on sertraline. To be honest i'm still a bit, amm, confused, feeling a bit numb, not really caring.
The bad thoughts i was having are still there, but i don't care.
It worries me because nothing seems to bother me, my wife and i have 3 teenagers, all the fun that goes with that!.
What i'm askin is, or saying how this is affectin me(sorry rambling) but thats my point, i don't seem to have any 'want' anymore. I mean, yes i'm calm, yes i'm more reasonable, but where is me?
Sorry, i'm just a bit confused.
btw, dunno if it matters, my doctor has upted my dose to 150 per day..
would love an opinion / experience.

When life is getting us down and we take meds to help they cannot actually change us. They sedate us, they make us feel floaty or a bit disconbobulated (not sure where I heard that one!) and sometimes confused, calm or even like we are living on the planet Zog.
They cannot make us feel ourselves as we usually are when happy and getting on with our lives. We need to be concious to do that, not under the influence of a drug.
Have you been taking this for long? If you are new to it then it will take a time to get into your system and your body get used to it. If you've been taking it for ages then you should have a chat with the medic who prescribed it for you. There may be an alternative that would suit you better.
It's a difficult one, you may need to go though this part to get through to the other side, when you can lower the dose and return to life once again.
You are still there, you are just having a break from it all for a while, needing to recuperate and give your poor self a bit of help. Hang in there, be kind to yourself.
Sorry I can't be of more help but I know one day you will be yourself again. Fanny Jane.

My doctor increased my dose from 50 to 100, ive experienced the same, just inner calm but no emotion, very weird feeling, feel so much better on these tablets but its like emotions have been taken away...i like the calmness though.

It's compicated because i have a complicated life, I can say that without these tablets I would be in a worse place, whats different from my original post is that I seem to have a bit more clarity, clarity of thought combined with a better ability to reason. So, what i actually mean is, personal perspective, is rather than 'jump' to a decision/conclusion is allow myself time to think.
Also a big factor in my case is I have realised my self worth. Thats gonna be different for everyone, but for me it's been realising that I don't have to put on a 'front', I AM ME, I can be happy, sad angry, annoyed, blah blah, we all question ourselves, In my opinion too much.
Hope this helps.

apparently you have to give them at least 4 weeks to see benefits.
