How I managed

I have managed to give all 7 of my family dinner this evening and I feel ok :D How did I manage it? Well, I did a simple pasta bake with salad and a blackberry and apple crumble with either cream or Ambrosia custard to save making custard. I cooked the fruit and then had a half hour rest. then I made the crumble and put in together, popped it in the oven and had another rest. After lunch I cooked the pasta and made the sauce & mixed it in. Then I lay on the sofa with MaxDog for half an hour. Next I grated cheese and sliced tomatoes and after that I had a cup of tea. Just before they came I baked the pasta and then put everything on the side and told them to help themselves and went and laid down again.
I have spent all day on a silly, simple meal but I enjoyed my family's visit and don't feel too washed out.
I have achieved something and feel pleased. Today has been good.
Sounds daft though, doesn't it, all day to get such a simple meal ready and served.

It's all about pacing isn't it. We kept having it drummed in to us on my ME course, that the only way forward is to do a bit, then rest, do another bit, then rest again ....... as soon on.
You have proved that this is really the only way we can achieve results - and then the satisfaction of having done so is a much-needed boost to our flagging morales.:magic:
Well done Alicia - it's a handful of Pringles for me this evening! (But then I did have the BBQ lunch )

Well done and i'm glad you had a lovely day with the family.
As Katie said, it's all about the pacing and you have proved that it does work.
I'm sure your family appreciated it.
I have been noticing with your quick wit and repartwee (spelling??) recently that you must be feeling a little better well from last week anyway.
The meal sounds just delicious :burger:
Don't get too cocky and think you can do that all the time though!

Does anyone else not feel the same 2 days running, or sometimes even 2 hours running?

That's why it so very difficult for others to understand our condition
Like Max dog I don't think my fibromyalgia likes this hot weather too much either - it's really giving me 'gip' today - so my temper is somewhat frayed

Actually Dale, you saying that you and Teedie are the same person really - reminds me that I'm often tempted to sneak in to this forum as a newbie and see how well I can wind you all up before you realise it's little 'ol me
Blimey, how sad is that
