How is everyone?

I can't remember who mentioned but I've started to take Vitamin D supplements - - Thanks for the tip !!

I'm not one for munching on tablets and stuff but after reading the post about vitamin D and someone at work was talking about the merits of ginger so I thought I give these things a pop.

So since Monday I've been munching daily

2 x Ginger Roots Tablets

2 x Vitamin D Tablets

4 x Ibuprofen Tablets

and I've been feeling pretty good the last few days, less fatigued and a bit more perkier. I don't know if it's the placebo effect, coincidence or the fact I am wearing weaker prescription glasses. Maybe it's all these things? I even had the radio blasting on my drive into work today !!

How is everyone else doing?

Oh nice one! how did you get on...what did they do to you?

Loads of balance testing and questions but she knew her stuff. Got exercises to do at home but at least now I know what and where the problem is and I will eventually improve. Xx

Oh good news ! Did you eventually see an ENT then (I know you were waiting a while). What did he/ she diagnose you with?

Great news, it's good that you found someone who knows their stuff cos we all need to feel confident that the person we are seeing is a specialist in this area.  What kind of exercises were recommended? My ENT said 'try to carry on as normal' without moving your head too much.

Hi, that's really good news.  what exercises did they give you to do?

Hi Darren, i think these things do help.  In fact the first year i had it  i was pretty ill, and it was only after seeing a Holisitic dr who suggested a few things that i picked up a bit.  I find that if i can be somewhat stronger in myself, it helps to cope with the whole scenario and effects of this problem.  Another good one for energy that he suggested was Co Enszyme 10.  Also a B12 complex which i swear by - but to save munching lots of tabs with fillers in them as i don't think they are good for you, my VitD and B one is a sublingual |(ie liquid) and it lasts a long time, so worth the cost.

I am trying a Homeopathic remedy too at the moment, Cocculus, that is meant to be good for motion sickness and emotional exhaustion which i think we all suffer from,so will see how it goes as only just started using it.  I think i pretty much know whether something is placebo affect now as if i don't get a good reaction, or bad, then it probably will be.  been at this too  long to be affected by placebos!!!

    Hi Darren

it's anybodys guess really isn't it, but if you feel better for it keep doing it.  I am interested that you mention weaker prescription glasses as i had my eyes tested at another opticians last week and the px was weaker than the ones i was px last year, so wonder if it also affects everything.  I'm back on the vit D now too past week and am having longer periods of less dizziness.

Good news if something is workingsmile

Thanks Anne, I think if my optician had his way, he'd have me seeing 2 ants mating at 50 yards. Seriously though in theory though I am wearing specs 2 prescriptions too weak but the relief on my eyes was instant and I still can see perfectly adequatly.

I'm glad to hear you are getting less dizzy which is great!!

same here i think specsavers gave me glasses to help me see into the future, i'm wary now of their prescriptions as the last glasses they px me i couldn't see anything as they were so strong and i knew something wasn't right. when i asked for a refund they said if gave them enough time i would get used to them, i said' what get used to not be able to see?'

Same here Anne, I'm a bit annoyed with Specsavers. I went to them for help/ expert advice and about a year ago I ended up buying stronger specs for distance and another pair for reading. I'm so glad my wife found my old specs recently becuase I am now using them for everthing. After my recent eye test they nearly had me buying varifocals...I'm so glad I didn't !!

To be honest I feel a bit mugged !!

Think if your eyes are okay in your specks don't change them  only thing I would have done is the eye pressure done, every 2 years as that test picks up lots in regard to your health inside ,that ones not aware of. You don't need specks changed if your okay with old pair, live and learn hey.Had eye test back in January no change in 4yrs ,so my balance not down to the eyes ,had pressure done, optician said nothing sinister going on (her  words ) so I was happy with that.Lifes all about money these days, they nearly had yours hey Darren, lightened your wallet by few £ s if they had there way.lesson learnt everyone here today,by all who've had these opticians visits, every 2 years.

Yes you are right Marlene, everything is about money these days and I am usually so sceptical (ask my wife) but when you are so desperate to get better and find a cure you end up paying for stuff that you didn't necessarily need.

That's why I tried those magnets they were free,if anyone asks for cash to try things,I'm oh so wary,I only take on board these days what's said on these sites by ones whose got my troubles ,walk in my shoes, then give me advice ,as this site does ,more power to us I say,as our aim is to get better quality to our lives ,to move on.Shame on those out to exploit people no matter what health issues they have.Us may well be them one day hey.
