I have now been on sertraline 50mg for 4 weeks and 4 days. The first 7-10 days were hazey but from then until week 3 I was fine, then I got the flu and was due on and my anxiety heightened again and am still abit anxious now, so week 3-4 1/2 has not been good. I still have a chest infection so I have put the (blip) down to my monthly and having flu, I'm feeling ok today, had abit of anxiety and I have eaten abit so I'm hoping I will feel the benefits. I have read and heard from other people sometimes it can weeks or months to feel the benefits, so just wondered what other peoples views r on this x

I have used Sertraline throughout my adult life and usually 2 to 3 years at a time. I have not experienced any negative side effects and have been able to go off of it for a couple of years here and there because I felt so leveled out. But huge life stressful events always push me back on it.
Sorry you have been so sick and I hope you get all the way well soon. It does take several weeks to a month or two to begin working well.
Feel good soon!

Sertraline Or any tablet was a last resort for me but I am glad I relented From being told I would never work again 5 months later I was back in work. Now coming off them by shaving off odd numbers using a nutmeg grater ie 1. 3 5 7 each week.
It made a massive difference for me but you will have a fee weeks of up and down . Best wishes on your journey
