How likely am I to further damage my broken foot in a boot?

I broke my foot just over a week ago (the middle three metatarsal bones, to be exact) and have been in a boot for two days. The doctors at orthopedics told me to wear the boot for the next six or seven weeks and start off non-weight bearing, but ease into standing/walking in the boot as pain allows. At the minute my foot is obviously still too painful to put weight on, but there's been a few times I've accidentally jolted it or put it down on the floor and made it hurt - how likely am I to have damaged my foot even further by doing this? I'm worried about accidentally displacing the bones as I was lucky to have a stable fracture in the first place, and my follow-up isn't until mid-April - I'd hate to wait all that time only to find out I need surgery!

    Hi braginskay,

I read your post and I think, you should wear boot six or seven weeks as advised by your doctor.

Every injury takes time to recover so please calm down and follow the things as advised by your doctor.

    Thanks!!
