How likely is this to be herpes? Tons of anxiety :(

Hello,

I’m really worried I contracted herpes. 13 Days ago I had sex with a woman at an Asian massage parlor (Condom was used). I didn’t notice anything suspicious on her and our encounter was brief maybe 5 minutes.  Started with missionary and then she briefly got on top.

She looked clean although she was not shaved so it would be difficult to see something if it was there.

Immediately after the encounter I was full of regret and panicking that I might have caught an STD. Lesson learned.

2 days later later (after I was obsessively reading symptoms for all STD’s online) I noticed my left knee was achy and eventually other joints/muscles began to ache too. Even now 13 days later I still have body aches from my groin to my knee and my left arm occasionally too.

3 days later I took a Gonorrhea and Chlamydia test which came back negative

8 days later i decided to go get a herpes igG test to rule out that I didn’t have herpes from any previous exposures. That test came back negative.

9 days later I noticed a single red dot on the right side of my scrotum looked like a pimple or maybe ingrown hair…not common for me although I was obsessively checking my genitals because I have been freaking out. I also could feel a really mild sore throat developing I ate some garlic took vitamins and it went away by the next day.

10 days later I went and got an igM test to see if I had a recent exposure. It also came back negative. (phew) I know the igM is prone to false positives but I took it anyways to rule out recent exposure since igM antibodies develop first I figured if it came back negative I would be relieved. I'm still having anxiety though sad

11 days later after I put tee tree oil on that red spot (looked like a single small pimple) it improved a lot. It was pretty small and didn't appear fluid filled under a magnifying glass it might have a tiny white dot at the top but it’s hard to tell. I went to the doctor and had him check it out he felt it and said its probably a small pimple and that my chances for herpes are very unlikely. I was told typically a first outbreak wouldn't form on the scrotum anyways.

13 days the little pimple looking thing is pretty much gone. The sore throat is back though. I took more vitamins hopefully its not a symptom of anything.

-During this entire time I have had a lot of anxiety this is all I can think about

-I have barely been eating and have almost no appetite

Between the igM and igG test and my symptoms how likely is this to be herpes?  I'm really worried because the sore achy muscles and I read that herpes can cause that (specifically on the left side)

If this was herpes would the muscles be aching for almost two weeks straight? or just immediately before an outbreak?

If this doesn’t sound like herpes does it sound like another std?

Should I be worried? Please help I'm driving myself mad!

Sounds like a learning lesson! Don't do that again! Have some respect for yourself. If you used a condom the entire time with no issues then I'd imagine you're ok. You could even be psyching yourself out and actually causing symptoms. You said you went to dr? It looks like you got a full STD screening. You may need to get it swabbed. I've had those aches you're talking about. I've been HSV-2 positive for 10 years. But again, you used a condom. Nothing is 100% except abstinence but it's unlikely if you were protected. Just relax. Call your doctor again and even tell him/her your anxiety issues. Chin up, may just be God teaching you a lesson wink Remember this feeling and naje better choices next time. wink

Huge learning lesson. I will never ever make a stupid mistake like that again.

Although I used a condom I am worried because Herpes can be spread by skin to skin contact as well.

You said you have similiar aches? Do they come just before an outbreak or do they last for almost two weeks? Can you tell me more what they feel like now I'm scared again

Sweetie relax. Yes, during an outbreak you may feel many different things but you've had tests that came back negative. But until a doctor says to you that no, you do not have them Shawn, you're going to be on hiatus. You've got that you used protection in your favor. Unless she was broken out she most likely did not pass it to you. Did you notice anything on her? Keep me posted. I'd like to check on you so we can find out your results. Either way...IT'S GOING TO BE OK! 10 years strong over here smile I was put in the dark by an inconsiderate jerk who very much knew he had this. My life has moved forward and so have my relationships. It doesn't make you dirty. I'm hoping this is simply a learning experience for you to be more careful who you choose to lay down with for now on. wink

Nikki, thank you for your comfort. Clearly you are a woman of God and I ask that you pray for me. I have prayed for forgivness every single day since this happened and I ask you that you pray for me too. I also pray that the woman working there finds God herself and exits this business as she is also endangering herself sad

To your question if I noticed anything on her I really did not but she was not shaved so I couldnt get as good of a look as I would have liked.

Does not sound like it. The thing that strikes me as odd is how you had so many tests done, yet failed to do the one test that could have eased your anxiety. Should have just pcr swabbed the pimple when it was there, then you could relax.
