How long

Hi everyone I'm just wondering how long does it take for the jittery anxiousness to go away? I'm on day 16 @ 50 mg. I haven't had too many side effects but these ones are so annoying. My only relief is ativan and I don't want to get dependant on that. I knw everyone's body is different but I would like to know if it's just me?

It's not just you at all.  I was very anxious for the first few months but I feel good now.  I'm on 200 mg, though!

My main side effects were inability to sleep, nausea and loss of appetite, along with intolerable anxiety but I also suffer from OCD.

You should feel better in a few weeks.  Good luck.

    Hi mae

Its just not you, I had high anxiety and panic attacks plus other unwanted side affects. It is said that it can take 6 to 8 weeks for improvement. This is a slow acting med, so hang in there it will get better. I also used ativan for relief on really bad days. You r not alone.

Hi Mae, Brenda is correct when she says it’s not just you. I assure you we all go through the jittery anxiousness in the beginning of treatment, in fact I’ve been on sertraline now for a little over three months and I still get the occasional days where my anxiety creeps back in and gives me that uneasy jittery feeling! Don’t forget it can take a good 6-8 weeks and sometimes more to really start working well! Good luck and God bless

I am almost 8 weeks in and I still have the jittery anxiousness that wakes up with me and follow me throught the day and evening.

The anxiety was almost gone but last Sunday, it came back full force. My doc decided to raise the dosage to 100 mg. I was at 50 mg since the second week.

He prescribed Ativan for the worst day. I am not taking them daily but I could since the anxiety is very high. I just don't want to become addicted to them.

Of what I understand reading stories here for a couple of weeks, the higher the dosage, the faster the relief is.

I knw ativan isn't good for u long term but it sure does help when needed. I upped my dose to 75mg 2 nights ago so hopefully I can stay at this dose for a while. I guess I'm just in a rush to feel better but I knw it's gonna take time 😔
