Hi, you're going to need to give a little more info than that.

Are you meaning after diagnosis? Without any treatment it's unlikely its just going to better.

After injection? it can take a little while, it could take a number of weeks to take full effect, if it still  persists maybe it hasn't work and further treatment like surgery maybe needed.

After surgery? From personal experience mine was symptom free for the first week then had a massive flare up just after that's died down but left a bit of numbness, I've put it down to swelling but not had it confirmed until I see specialist in a few weeks.

Any concerns with your healing you should seek advice from who ever is dealing with your case.

    Hope you get some resolution.

You may want to ask your Dr. why, as for myself my hands are still tingling and numb and I had my surgery on July 31, 2013, had two nerve test, shots in my hands, as I had both hands done the same time and now my doctor tells me to have a revision surgery, but he doesn't do them.  I wish I never had ths done.  I will pray for you Shirley God bless.

I am in Fl. but had my surgery in N.H.  I am trying to keep strong, but sometimes I am very upset, I just keep on praying and that helps.  When I get back to N.H. in the Spring I hope to find a specilist in Boston,Ma.

I've learned from reading that you should have no pain once that from surgery subsides, but that numbness can take months to subside. That fits with my experience about five weeks post-surgery.

You say it may take months well I am going on  years, as the numbess starte before my surgery and that's why I had the CTS surgery

I've been curious about this too.

im two weeks post open surgery for severe CTS.  Tingling started the day I woke and regained feeling.  Never very intense, but always there.  Doctor told me its a sign of nerve healing.

Also, thenar muscles were atrophied in both hands.  Left came back at about 3 weeks, right (worse CTS), and right after 5 weeks.  Far quicker than I imagined.

Im now at 6 weeks.  Tingling is still there, punctuated by jolts of real pain from time to time.  However, the tingling is disappearing.  I think it will be gone at three months, but it's a complete guess.  I've asked my doctor if there is no tingling, is there still healing.  He has yet get back to me.

i can believe I still have months to go, but I am way better.  Very curious about knowing more about healing and tingling.

if I'm not tingling, am I healing?

Hey all!  Hope things are steadily improving as the days go by. My tingling and hand numbness were gone immediately post surgery on Nov. 7th but my finger tip sensation has not yet improved when tested with the two pronged instrument on the day the stitches were taken out a week ago.  I am lucky in that my recovery has been relatively comfortable and am scheduled to have my right hand done this Friday. Hope this left hand will bear up ok while the right is healing.

BTW...I have just started a new closed group on FB  called Carpal Tunnel Surgery Recovery. If you're on FB do come and join us !  smile
