how long after exposure did most notice symptoms?

Had sex with a new guy recently and used condom then condoms couldn't get him hard so I unfortunately also went without (we were away together for a week). He used lube on me the last night we were together and that night I felt very irritated down there. This was over two weeks ago. When I got home from my trip I was still a little irritated and treated myself with a 7 day yeast cream. A few days later I got my period. I feel better but still feel some irritation and see some redness and have slight itchiness. I never had a sore or felt flu like. My question for everyone who has GH is, how long after you had sex did you notice your initial outbreak. (On average) seems like if people get the outbreak it usually happens right away or within two days? Calling doc tomorrow. Wondering if I'm paranoid (keep checking my privates in mirror) or what else it could be to cause redness and slight itch for this long?

One day only, starting with burning urination like a UTI. A few lesions appeared by around four days.

P.S. I had no flu-like symptoms. Lesions were barely noticeable or tucked away. Only found them, because I kept examining myself!

    This is a sneaky virus

I am new to the club, but it seems like alot of different ways the virus expresses itself.

Dont freak... It could be lots of things. You are smart to go to your doc.

I am positive and cant find a lesion to save my life, yet im swollen and itchy and in oh so much pain.

Could the lube have caused an irritation, or was it standard KY, so unlikely? Might also be BV or something equally mild.

I wondered the same. It was in a bottle no name on it so I am wondering if this no name oil/lube could be the culprit. It's just that it's two and a half weeks later. Would I still be irritated (no lesions, no pain) if it was indeed GH? I am hoping it might just be BV. Thanks for your replies.

First GH outbreak can last a couple of weeks, longer for others. Usually, you feel completely normal again down there after 2-3 weeks. Recurrent outbreaks resolve sooner.

Mystery no-name lube sounds scary, lol! I wouldn't want funny unknown stuff put on my bits, haha. You should casually ask him what it was that he used.

Lol I know! I don't even need lube. I am trying to figure out how to casually ask him what it was. Doc next week though, feel better today but the irritation comes and go. Very weird.

Perhaps BV my first breakout was in the same month that we had intercourse, but I had blisters that turned to lesions. But I also have suffered with BV and these are the synptoms I got, no smell but itchiness and redness so God willing its just a bacterial infection which can happen easily especially with unprotected sex the ph of a males penis can really upset our very sensitive areas.

You could be just irritated from the condom or the sex itself. But I have oral herpes in the genital area and my outbreak and symptoms started like 2-3 weeks after I was exposed. That's when my dr said is the usual time frame. I would def speak with your dr about it and get it checked out. Better be safe than sorry

Your outbreak was actually on the late side of the incubation period. Most occur within the first week.
