How long before Sertraline starts to work ?

This is my sixth week on Sertraline and I haven’t seen any improvement. I started on 25mg and now I’m on 100mg. I’m desperate for them to work.

How long since you started on the 100mg. I've been on it 2 weeks and started around the same time starting at 25mg! I don't feel great and side effects are rough! Guess just need to hang in there x

      Hi Sharon,

been on 100mg for 2 weeks and I’m going to up them to 125 tonight. After reading all the negativity on this site I feel like giving up on them.

I'm trying to keep to the positive stories in mind. The way I feel that would be easy for me too but i just think have come this far. I will give it another few weeks and see if there is any improvement x

took me about four and a half months, the only problem I had was I was extremely exhausted, so I cut back to 50 mg 2 weeks ago which would mean I was on them for five and a half months. I wasn't driving for a year-and-a-half though and now I am driving so they definitely helped me greatly and give me my life back. And I'm having bad side effects from the withdrawal like increased anxiety and exhaustion... I've also gained about 15 pounds which I'm not too happy about.... but I'm going to up back up to a hundred I honestly did feel really good on them but I feel like even when I'm walking I'm gaining weight ...anyone else experienced this or do you think it's just the weather

I personally never got any result at all but became ill from them. I had to give up after 8 weeks.

Guys, I am on sertraline 50mg for about 8 months. The first 2-3 weeks are HELL. But after that life gets easier; life gets back to normal before anxiety/panic attack/depression. Please hang in there. I lost 7 kg in the first 3 weeks and gained 5 kg (my usual weight before I started on sertraline) since then.

Thanks robin. It's good to have some reassurance that given time these will work x
