Mine started to kick in after about 4 weeks, I guess. It is different for everyone, but it's best just to keep going. They will make you feel better. I'm at the other end now, I'm just coming off them after about 4 years. Not nice, but after reading posts on here, I realise I should have reduced much more slowly than recommended by my GP. I definitely needed them at the time, so don't fight against it. I stayed on 50mg the whole time and with a blip mid way when the brand was changed (different chemist), they worked for me, keeping me at a level 'happy' place!
I was quite surprised I needed them in the first place, but I obviously did. I felt guilty at first because my problems seemed insignificant to others. All work related sadly, but it put me in a frame of mind that needed sorting.
I hope you start to feel better soon. I'm sure you will!
Good luck x
