How long can one vestibular migraine last?

Ive just had 2 weeks off work due to vertigo, dizziness and exhaustion. I've had a history of migraines in the past but they would only last 3 days. Brain cancer has been ruled out, as has strokes, heart etc. I saw a vestibular rehab specialist today and after quite a few tests believes that it's not Menieres, it's not the ear crystal thing, it's not neuritis and that leaves migraine. Two weeks per attack seems a bit excessive but I couldn't drive myself to work as driving triggered vertigo and dizziness. And I could get more attacks! The first I knew of this attack was vertigo at 100 kms on a freeway which I am keen not to experience again. Anyone else with similar experiences out there? I'm 59 years old.

So it sounds like they’ve ruled everything else out and decided on a diagnosis of vestibular migraine now.

Have they initiated you on drug treatment for it?

I'm curious if you are having some of the same symptoms as I am.  I am having vertigo when I move around. The severity increases the longer I'm up and about, then a very severe headache sets in. If I sit down and relax the vertigo eases off within the hour, but the headache takes a good while longer to subside. If I keep trying to push on through and stay up and active I'm stumbling, dizzy, my thoughts become slowed and muddled, and the headache becomes so severe I can't hardly hold my eyes open and it begins to radiate from the backs of my eyes down my spine. I've been to my general physician twice, emergency room twice, neurologist, cardiologist twice, I've had 3 sets of blood work, two general CT scans and a contrast CT scan, multiple physical exams and a few EKGs.  Note I have a cardio defibrillator implant hence the cardiologist getting involved and no MRI. I've taken nausea medication and steroids, but no pain reliever. Over the counter products don't touch the pain and I'm unable to take condene or synthetics. No one has been able to figure this out yet and I'm now unable to work or drive. This started December 11th or so.  Any similarities or suggestions?
