How long did it take your brain to not notice eye floaters?

I'm 52 and have been suffering from eye floaters for 6 weeks especially the left eye. I had retinal tears in both eyes early Dec. 2021 and got laser treatment. Now the tears are well sealed. But the floaters remain and they make me depressed and panic. I try not to think about them but could not because 2 strings on my left eye kind of come into the center of my vision all the time.

All doctors I've seen told me to live with them and the brain will learn to ignore them in at least 3 months. Anyone who could successfully cope with them by such brain mechanism, could you please share your success story? Any techniques would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.

There is no secret...your brain and binocular vision will automatically sort it out. If however they are still interfering with your vision after 6 months do see your doctor again. Only you know what you can see, so if there is no improvement in 6 months try to draw a picture with what you can see in your vision with both eyes open and keep it to show your doctor.
