How long do withdrawal symptoms last?

Came of 10mg citalopram 3 days ago after gradually tapering. Felt really awful on this drug, main symptom OCD which was caused by sertraline that briefly tried previously. Had a real meltdown day when on 1 mg, but so far since stopping haven't felt any worse. Have read average withdrawl lasts about 6 weeks, bit worried as said it's one of hardest to come off, but takes about 7 days to come out of your body. Just wondering when likely to see symptoms lessening, figure as drugs caused this hopefully once out system will slowly improve?
