Hey Naomi i was seeing a pain management doctor here and he said they are now dealing with migraine headaches by way of botox injections.......you need to see a neurologist if you are having bad headaches...your GP usually can't help find one that knows about botox

Hello Naomi64 I a not an expert on Gabapentin but I have been on them for about 8 years 900 mg 3 times a day along with coco Damol . If you decide to come off the Gabapentin you must wean yourself off them over a long period.i agree this drug is weird.

I tried to come off them about 2 years ago and it caused me to have a heart attack and I am now left me with heart failure. My left ventrichal valve is damaged . I am now back on the gabs which my doctor advised me to .i take them for nerve damage in my lower back. Please be careful that you don’t try to come off them to quickly as it causes all sorts of problems with your body and mind . Hope this helps

Yes, was my question too, when will withdrawal be done?

Posted a discussion much like yours, and got no replies, maybe a technical glitch.

Hi deebee. I’m wondering after just taking one pill broken in half. it was a 600 mg pill I took during the night. Do you think I need to taper down from one pill . I have no idea what to do because it was 2 300 mg. I don’t want to take any more I’m really dizzy ant want this out of my system. Do you have any thoughts what I should do. Thanks and I hope you’re doing well.

Hi Sue, I would go really slow with your taper. Mine was a low dose for couple months and I tapered off and still feeling horrible side effects, it’s day 8 of no gaba. Just go slow, we’ll get through this.

Hi deebee.  I feel really fortunate that I didn’t follow my doctors instructions. He prescribed me 3-600 mg a day. I took one broken in half during during the night and woke up so dizzy. It lasted until late in the afternoon. I decided that no way would I take any more and had no more side effects. I really feel for all the people going through the awful withdrawals that I’ve been reading. How dare these these so called doctors prescribe this horrible drug to people that just want help. Good luck and no doubt with Gods help, you will get through this.

I have been off it for a week now and Sri getting sweats and shotness of breath i decided a week ago that I was sick of having pills shoved at me was on 400m 3 times a day along with tramodol and naproxen apart from masking the pain slightly all any of these pills have done is make me feel wretched depressed and moody and tearful so a week ago I stopped them all went to my doctor told her what I had done and demanded more investigation as to why I was in so much pain instead of keep throwing pills at me now awaiting xray bloods

And nerve tests being done next week and have been put under a physiotherapist

I took 100 mg for 2 days then realised that it was making me feel bad so I stopped taking it,so far I just feel tired all the time and weak but that happens to me sometimes anyways,I need to know if I will suffer from any more side effects, the doctor prescribed this medication to me without telling me anything concrete.

I started Neurontin back around the end of November to help with sciatica.  The beginning of January I discovered I was unable to have an orgasm.  Upon doing some research, I found out that this was a (rarely mentioned) side effect of this drug.  After two weeks of this condition, I quit the drug, which means I was on it for only 1-1/2 months.  It is now the beginning of February and things have not changed.  I read in someone's response it could take up to 6 months for this to get out of one's system.

Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, how long did it take to recover normal functioning?

I was prescribed 100mg 3 times daily for hip degeneration & severe arthritis in neck, severe depression. Worked for about 2 months but made me very spacey. Dr up the dose 300 mg 3 times daily then  month later 400mg pills 2 at a time 3 times a day. Developed very violent thoughts and couldn’t do barely anything so I started cutting back to  mabe 3- 400 mg a day. Still a zombie with NO energy or sex drive. Cut down to 2 a day quickly after all this research. We stupidly trust these drs becuz we are in so much pain. I took my last 400mg cap last Sunday night& felt better Monday and have not taken another. I am one of the lucky ones, taking 200mg of tramadol REALLY helps. Also magnesium, 25 to 50 mg Benadryl & 200 mg progesterone (for females)all in evening is keeping withdrawal very tolerable. Still extremely tired but coping well. Considering I was on this for 3/4 year I am very fortunate to be doing so well. Pray for u all , ur normal functioning will return with time, never again will I take this crap

I was on a low dose 200mg a day. At first One in the morning and one at night but Gabapentin made so sleepy so my Doctor has me take it only at nigh.  I took it for 3 months.  My Back got to hurting bad,  I started having more headaches,  then my neck started hurting,  my Doctor sent me for physical Therapy which helps but the my head started Shaking when I hold it down to do things like typing or trying to read also my vision has gotten blurred at times.  My Doctor is not the one that took me off GABAPENTIN I did because I was just getting worse and this is the only new medication I was on.  I looked up the side effects and found gabapentin has all of these.   I have been off of it for 17 days now.  I am still having the side effects I am praying that it is just taking awhile it get out of my system.  If you know how long it will take please let me know.
