Hi I was prescribed Premique 6.25 12 days ago but although my hot flushes are a little better in the day they are still waking me up every hour at night. Has anyone had similar experiences ? I would like to hear from you .

Yes, PatricIa, I would sleep with 2 ice packs under my back, just so I could sleep a few hours. It worked. I was using clay packs because they absorbed the heat and it does not transfer the heat back to you. When one would get hot I would switch it out with another cold one. At first I use to freeze them later just put them in the refrigerator or on my window sill and that would make it just right to sleep. Hope this helps.

Well, I hardly get them now because I stopped eating anything with soy lecithin, caffeine and when I shower I rinse off cold water. The idea is to basically rinse off with the coldest water you can tolerate. Turn the knob while in the shower towards cold only on your back, untilĀ  you can no longer handle it any colder. After 2-3 times or more of doing this your hot flashes will diminish along with the cold packs. Good luck with yours, xx.

I started HRT 2 weeks ago and I'm not sleeping yet. Apparently it can take 3 months to feel the full effect. Good luck xxx

    Hi Patricia,

You need to give it 3 months. I'm just coming up to that on mine now, I felt less hot at night quite quickly within the first couple of weeks but I would still get hot going into shops cooking and after my bath.

I'm still having to sit naked in a cool place after bathing but not every single time and it's been a few weeks now where I haven't had to shed most of my clothes when I've got the oven on. Also I have managed to wear a coat in the shops for the last 6 or 8 weeks without having to suddenly take it off and carry it.

I'm still coming over a bit hot occasionally but it is more occasionally like it was early peri rather than the norm.

In the evenings now I often feel cold which is how I always used to be.

I think my most noticeable improvement came on my 5 th week in but at weeks 6 to 8 some old peri symptoms returned and then went again.

    So give it a while.
