It was a year before mine began to reduce and not swell up at the slightest thing and around 18 months before I could say it was back to normal.

at least 6 mths may be up to 12 mths before all settles.
your body has been traumatised and needs a long time to return to some balance.
as long as your not doing strenuous activity and no heavy lifting you will have a speedy recovery.
