Hi, I've heard of people being being on them 13 yrs so yes it can be a long term solution. Did the fluxotine stop working for u then? I've been on sertraline 50mg now for nearly 7 weeks and it has been very up and down from week to week, but I do feel better than from when I started. Sertaline is a slow one to start, normally between 6-12 weeks but any side effects should go within the first 4 weeks. Hope u start feeling better soon, but if u don't feel any benefit within week 8 then u might need to up your dose. Good luck x

Hi I've been on loads from fluxotine citrapram last was serteraline was 50mg then up to 100mg for about 4 months like you said up and down all the time I got to the point were I new if I was going to have a good day or a bad 1 in the end I gave up on them told gp wanted off of them now I'm on mertazapine at night and have propanal for the anxiety and panic attacks it's been a long road of up and down just got to brake the cycle of the thoughts of panicking and anxiety I will get there again at moment it's up an down with the mertazapine I think everyone at times will experience it some people just handle it bit worse than others end of the day you got just get on with it and take it from me if you just sit and dwell on it it seams to make things worse

I am also on propranolol 40mg x3 a day along with the 50mg of sertraline. I do agree with u that if u just sit and dwell on it it makes u worse, but it is hard not to when your not feeling yourself x
