How long for Meloxicam to work?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I've been on Meloxicam for 3 days and I have yet to feel any improvement with pain and stiffness. How long does it take to work?

I was on Enbrel, which was working very well, but had to go off of it due to liver impairment. I'm scared to try anything else that may harm my liver so I'm left with anti-inflammatory meds and painkillers.

Hello! My daughter is 10 and takes meloxicam and it started working at about 4 weeks. I believe everyone is different so take that into consideration. Goidcluck hope this helps😊

Thanks Kimberlee. I thought it would work faster than that, but it's good to know! I see the rheumy on Monday and will ask for knee injections. That's where the pain is concentrated right now.

I'm having hot flashes and stomach irritation, so i'm not sure the Meloxicam will be worth it if I don't get significant pain/stiffness relief.

Hi again! Have you tried methotrexate? My oldest daughter15, has been on it for about a year and has worked great. She takes celebrate also with folic acid which helps the stomach.

Hi Kimberlee. I haven't tried Methotrexate. I'm worried about my liver because my enzymes spiked on Enbrel. My rheumy said Methotrexate is even harder on the liver. I feel like I'm out of options.

Aww never out of options! Just have to think outside the box. Keeping your mind strong and a smile inside and out and you will be Ok! I bet you have a great team and they will figure it out! Stay strong!
