How long for sex after Urolift?

Had Urolift about 10 days ago. Feeling OK, but horny. Doctor said to wait about two weeks before ejaculation. Does this seem to be the general consensus?

    Hey William

I had my Urolift done over 4 years ago. My doctor told me 4 weeks because they want the clips to a here to the prostate. I would wait till at least 3 weeks

    No rough sex......Ken.

I guess you are wanting to see if it is true that the Urolift does not cause RE. I had the Urolift in March and my Urologist did not say anything about when I could have sex. My Urolift burned for a week before I could even think about sex and I think it was about two weeks before I had intercourse, and I did not have RE.

I was more concerned about my FLOW and my Urolift made it worse and I have a bad sensation in that area. A recent Cyscostopy did not reveal a clip in my bladder and my Urologist did not say anything about what made my flow worse. I think I have some puckers between the clips in the Urethra and they are making my flow worse. Wish I had never had this procedure done and will be talking to my Urologist next Tuesday about removing the clips in my Urethra to get back to my normal flow and hope the sensation in that area will go away. He might want to do a TURP and he already knows that is not an option until I have to urinate through a catheter and I have no more sex desires.

I had a Urolift several years ago. Did nothing for me but cause some additional issues that at least weren't serious, but nevertheless. They still exist. Not to mention the discomfort after the proceduer. Like Jim94474 I regret the procedure. Regarding sex, I don't remember but I did not want to rush it and I think the doc said at least 2 weeks. I waited longer. Take your time.

I had urolift done 10 months ago. Have had slight improvement but need now need a TURP (or part-turp). I have continual discomfort from urolift and also wish I hadn't had it. I think the Uro's advise no sex for 4 weeks.

Sorry to hear, you basically had a failure like me. And need another procedure, ouch. But I am lucky to have no discomfort. A month sounds right. Good luck.

Does no one ever contact the developers to tell them of their failures ? When GL first started both in America and the UK reps were often present at procedures as observers and advisors.

I had an Amplatzer amulet fitted into my left atrial appendage and even two years after the UK trial had finished St Jude Medical had an observer at my procedure even although my surgeon had done over a hundred of them.

If they are not told Uro's who give poor results will keep on doing them. At the hospital where I had my heart valve replaced one surgeon had three unexplained deaths over a short period of bypass patients and he was stopped from operating until there had been a full inquiry.

    Hello fellow Uroliftians ,

I had the Urolift proceedure done and it was not a very pleasant experience at least for me.. your results may differ. I had it done in March of 2019, I went home after surgery and it was painful with alot of bleeding. I tried to keep urinating but overnight, I eventually swelled up inside so much that I could not urinate anymore.. So I called my doctor and they told me to get up to the emergency room.. and there they cathed me twice.. once to get a urine sample.. then they pulled it out.. only to get a call from my doctors team to put it back in.. they also had to order Cipro for me to take. I had the cath in for like four days and let me tell you.. it was the four days from hell.. I could not sit up because it was too painful and putting pressure on everything.. so I just laid in my bed.. I was also having internal spasms everytime I went to have a bowel movement, so my doctor had to give me medicine to stop those spasms.

So, did the Urolifft improve urinary function? Yes and no.. there is a little less trouble getting the flow started.. but still I have a weak stream.. only get up once during the night and thats toward early morning hours. I also have weird pains in the bladder area that come and go for some reason over the past three years. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this?? As far as having sex, I would wait a few weeks after the procedure to heal up inside.

Fast forward to 2022.. I see my urologist.. filled out the BPH questionaire.. so he decides to do more tests.. this time I did the Urocuff test.. and that hurt! they put a suction tube on your penis head and have you urinate through this device thats connected up to a computer to measure your flow. Well mine came back obstructed.. so he did another cystoscope as well as a digirectum to see the prostate. My prostate grew in size from 37g to 50g in just over three years! And there are two areas of tissue hanging down that are probably causing the issue (I hope!). So, this week coming week I am again going to have the Urolift proceedure again.. he is going to make adjustments to the Urolift that is in place.. plus add to it where the tissue is hanging down. He told me that he has done this before to someone and they had 100% control over their urinary function. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this!! I will let everyone know how it turns out.
