How long is it safe to take the max Pentasa for?

Hi, I’m currently flaring with UC. I’ve doubled up my Pentasa and have been on pred foam enemas and Pentasa 1g supps on and off for almost 5 months now.  As soon as I stop the rectal meds it flares again even if I wean them. I know I prob need an escalation in treatment but I’m also worried about the amount of Pentasa I’m having. I’ve been taking 4g for 5 months now is that ok?
