Today I got my dosage down and I hurt. I would like to continue this dose to see what happens. Can you give me some idea how long I should give it before upping my dose?

I want to thank everyone who's responded. Yesterday I ended up taking 2 milligrams of prednisone on top of what I had already taken. But I am still in horrible pain. I'm starting to wonder if this is even PMR pain or something entirely different. I know my pain meds are not even touching the pain which is common for PMR but at this point I just want to die from the pain. I have contacted my doctor and I'm waiting for a response.

Hope you get some answers soon. Along with my PMR flare I've had a lot of back pain the last few months so I have some inkling how complicated it gets when there are multiple sources of pain. I seem to have a handle on the flare now, but it took a while and I'm still at a higher dose than I was a year ago. Nevertheless we all have to remember Eileen's adage: "It isn't slow if it works".
