How long to start being effective for anxiety

Posted , 1 user is following.

I've had pretty awful anxiety for the last 4 years and after trying SSRI's, SNRI's and Mirtazapine my Psychiatrist suggested we give Nortriptyline a try.

I've been on it for 3 weeks now. First week 50mg per day and last two weeks 100mg per day.

It's definitely made my anxiety a lot worse, which I know most antidepressants can do during the first few weeks. I'm just wondering how long it usually takes before you start getting some relief?

I've luckily got ample supply of Clonazepam to help me stay sane in the meantime.

Guess I can answer my own question. Started feeling markedly better 2 days ago and even more so today.

First time in more than a year that I don't feel like clawing my own skin off.
