How long to start peeing?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have BPH. Given Tamsulosin and gave me leg muscle problems so stopped. Now given Finasteride but haven't started them yet i.e. concerned about side effects.

Can anyone give me an idea how long it is to start urinating from a standing start i.e. relax and then pee. It takes me about 3 to 6 seconds and then the stream is OK but slow and I have no problem ejecting the last bit by muscle control?

Thanks for your time.

I guess situations vary...as yours may over time. My own dilemma is pee sessions5 minutes or longer -- in short squirts -- before comfortable enough to return to bed. (Not an issue in the daytime, btw.)

But again, based on the responses here...your mileage may vary.

Tamulosin in my experience (and Others on this board) had undesirable and unwanted sexual sided effects. I had PAE this year to reduce peeing to normal and duration frequency

My suggestion, is to get off the medication, and do CIC. I used to be on medication, and after awhile your body gets used to the medication, so it is not so effective. If you self-cath, it will empty the bladder completely and you won't have any kind of side-effects from medication. This is just my opinion, but I think the catheter, will help to keep the opening in your prostate and bladder, from closing.

3 to 6 seconds not bad at all, for me it can be 10 to 15 seconds. Finistertide takes ages to work as they shrink the prostate, I was on Alfuzozin but thei moved me to Tamsulosin not sure why which initially made me keep waking up to wee but is OK now. I ised to get lots of water infections but don't now

It tends to lead to dry orgasms though
