i just got a new card that says i have husky C now. people tell me it's better than medicaid, but seeing is believing.since i'v been on ssi i'v never paid for anything medical. but my hip has been destroyed from arthritis for over 8 years. i fear im reaching the end of my rope because my percription percocet 5 isn't doing much anymore. the last MRI showed a partial colapse of the femoral head with a torn labrum 15 percent cartaledge left. i fear a dislocation at this point. after the orthapedic specialist gets an approval from husky C do you think it will take long to actually get the surgery

I went to schedule my thr last monday and they gave me a 5 month wait. But due to mine being a more complicated operation they are trying to make me a priority so it may be less. I think it depeneds on where you are and the hospital

      Hi pauli,

I understand that your hip surgery is already approved - what did they tell you at the doctor's office ?

I don;t think the surgeon sets the date but the hospital administration is - surgeon might be able to speed up the process , depending on your diagnosis, which to me sounds serious.

Who is your provider? I think that the best thing for you to do is to contact Husky Medical and ask them what you are supposed to do now.

Do you have someone who can help you with this? family member or social worker?

I am so sorry that you are in so much pain -

good luck and have faith, Pauli and let us know how you're getting on, okay ? you can always come back here -

      big warm hug

husky is sending a nurse ( so they say) to my home to help speed things along. i'm almost hoping for it to dislocate which may require emergency replacement sugery. i'm at the point where i need a wheelchair if i stop the narcotics.

up date.. my doctor decided not to follow the new CDC opiate guidlines with me so i'll still be getting meds. i have an appointment with PT which my doctor and even the therapist say will not work for me because the OA is just to far advanced in my hip, but medicaid says it's required that i at least try it even if it is waste of time and money. anyway after PT it's on to an evaluation from a surgeon  and hopefully an aprroval from medicaid. my doctor sees no reason not to be approved because i lost the required weight and have a good outlook and a solid plan to get back to work and off disability. i may have my answer in 60 days. i had so much pain a while back that i was thinking of a way to break the hip so i could get emergency surgery and be done with this aggravition.

      Hi Paul,

Good to hear from you, but not such good news - PT is not really making you feel better when OA is so advanced - Just make sure it won't be too streneous -

Oh no, you don't want to break your hip, eventhough I understand how you feel - You just want to get rid of that gnawing all consuming pain , come hell or high water !!

      is the medication helping you?

It looks that one year wait might be right ... i am so sorry that you are in so much pain -

Hang in there and thank you for keeping in touch

      big warm hug
