Having my second ankle arthroscopic in 12 months soon and I've been told this time he is going to rebreak my ankle to encourage it to heal! Having only recently started uni I'm worrying will I be in cast and if so how long for! The last time I broke it I was in cast for 4 months so I'm hoping someone could shed some light! Thanks!

I would imagine by what I and other people have posted, that you will definitely be in a cast for a minimum of 2-3 months.

I feel for you as it is not an ideal situation to be in at any time, but for it to interfere with your education is not good.

I hope all goes as well as can be expected.

Did you ask your doctor? I would think he could give you accurate time in the cast. Hopefully it's less than the first.  For your sake I hope it's only 6 weeks. Being young you may be able to get around after a few weeks. Maybe the school has someone to help you to classes temporarily. Some schools have options for the disabled. I broke my ankle Sept. 25 and in 4 days I'm suppose to go into a lace up boot from a cast and start weight bearing. I was overwhelmed my the time when they said I needed surgery, but now I can't believe I'm almost there. Good luck with your recovery. It's goes faster than you think.
