How many?

Hi, I have had PF for 10 months now, I was in total agony, my Consultant did steroid injections under GA, as he said it was extremely painful. All wen well, then, 6 days post injections, my feet started to get sore again, and now, I'm back to square one. I see him on December 11th, to see what happens next. Does anyone know if there is a limit to how,an times you can inject? Thank you in advance xxx

You might ask the doc, but I believe it's only a few -1?  3? There is a risk of the shot causing the plantar fascia to rupture.  Check w. doctor.

Sorry to hear that your back to square one. I'm pretty sure there must be a limit, andy not that many to the amount of injections you can have,  I've been advised against the injections as there is risk of the Plantar rupturing.

    good luck

Having looked at all the posts and considered things, I am definitely not going down the injection route.  They just don't seem to work.  Have a look at all the posts re injections Barbra and you will see what I mean.

I think here in the UK it is 3 steroid injections.....maybe it depends on which health authority/funding etc....  I now have a ruptured plantar fascia (side effect and risk of steroid injections) :-(  hope you find relief soon.... Kim

Hi Kim, I'm in the UK. Alton, Hampshire. Sorry to hear that your PF has ruptured. How can you tell if it's ruptured?

I'm on Tramadol for the pain, it's awful, my job means that I'm on my feet all day, I get home and rest up, and as soon as I stand up to walk, OMG! It's agony! What are they going to do about your rupture? x

Hi Barbra.... Yes it is sheer agony,,, I have suffered for almost 3 years now:-( my rupture was diagnosed by ultrasound in September, I went for the third steroid injection under ultrasound guidance, but couldnt have it, as mine is a partial rupture, it is literally hanging on the heel bone....Im having surgery tomorrow and I am trying to be positive....I would love to be rid of this pain......good luck I know its awful pain,,,,xx

Hi Kim, glad all sent well for you yesterday, fingers crossed it's finally worked for you. I see my Consultant on Thursday to see what's next for me!! Where in the UK are you? xx

Hi I live in Staffordshire, the TOPAZ Coblation appears to be giving success for many patients according to my surgeon.... He has explained to me that it was worth a try as my PF was severe and of course the partial rupture just added to the problems....he has informed me that if it doesnt work then I would have to decide about the open fasciatomy sad which I know can be very unpleasant and comes with a high risk of foot collapse...I have MS and even though in remission they seem to think it may have contributed to developing PF due to my poor muscle strength and altered gait.... I am not used to watching daytime TV but doing all I can to try and make it work for me...Good luck when you go. xx

Daytime TV is pants! There is only so much you can take!! Good luck on that! 😉 I hope the Topaz Coblation works for you, I have my fingers crossed! Are you in a cast or anything? xx

Hi Barbra all surgeons have different routines following surgery, mine puts a dressing on and a bandage then you wear a post op shoe....not very fashionable lol x

I live in Lithuania, and my surgeron said that the limit is three injections of steroid (Kenalog). I saw that the first time he injected in the most sore place - this one worked the bestsmile The next time he did that in different place telling me that in the first place only one injection could be done (weakest part of the fascia).
