    Hi Patricia,

I did a very similar post just last week as I thought mine was a record at 37, having only had 28 in February when I had the first hip done but someone on my thread had a lot more, something like 50ish or more!

It's good that you are getting physio as many people don't get any at all, just what they get before they leave the hospital and a booklet.

Good wishes for your continued recovery. 2 weeks and 3 days post op today and I'm down to 1 crutch or no crutches for pottering round in the kitchen. It gets easier, keep up the good work 😊

Brilliant news, jay. Are you feeling a bit brighter in yourself now too? It's all just a time thing but we all come through the difficult early days intact.

      Keep it up.

    Hi patricia

By no means partcia i thought mine was alot i had and still have got them 70 staples i have a scar from the top of my waist stops just above my knee cap its the longest scar My GP as ever seen from an hip operation the surgon im under wont tell me nothing i was in hospital 30 days plus the surgon that did my opp took of and took my notes the him the nurse had to take them out in two attemps they put stitches so close to each other ive got them in a sterile bottle they gave me from the hospital hope this dosent boar you i will tell you about my bad experiences so long as you are on the mend thats all that matters.

ive had 2 hip ops in a matter of months apart as both have gone wrong last one was very complicated never been explained to why im bedbound from both ive never been able to bend my knee it totally locked up after ops, this time leg is 3 inch shorter, tilted pelvis didnt have this before any of the ops, foot drop in both feet ive never been able to walk ive pins, plates ,screws, and wires and 8hrs in theatre straight to H.D.U god im in horrendous pain this as been going on since my first op in october 18/19/2013 to May/2014 but over last 2 month its got worse ive had to lay flat on my back or even sit up since the first op Now the surgon thinks ive got bones cancer i have to go for a bone scan on 15/9/2015 to confirm it wich should have been done before now.

He new i was allergic to what was put in my hip from a blood test ive had done but he wont take all the things out because ive deterioated so much im so frail and too weak to Top it he told me he broke my femor when doing this operation i only found out May this yr he let it slip out he new i couldnt report him it had gone over the 12 month we have  i am so depressed all i do is cry im in so much pain i am on morphine and parocomol its got to pitch i dont think its working he cant even do an op to try and make the knee bend but he said he could before may but now hes got out of it because of the deterioation

so dont worry about the amount of staples you had conantrate now on your recovery it as worked for you think posativeI

I only had a smallest fall not through Artheritis I was reffered to a butcher surgon thats made me 10 times worse i cant belive Two could make a cock up excuse my expression especially from Two different hospitals im sorry ive gone on about my own experience.

so long as you do your exercises and dont over due it then you have to look forward to you getting back to near or all as possible as you can

Think we both can have this put into the guiness book of records when you here of ppl only haveing a 4 to 6 inch scar no were near so many staples it dose make you wander why!!! someone might beat us.

If i have to get out of bed to use the commod that nearly kills me and to rely on Care's to do everything for me except wash my hands and face i would be in worse state i always think there is someone worse of than me if i didn't have my pc i would be dead i can only get on it when the pain gets a bit bearable . Im so glad when i here other ppl who sail through hip ops and as worked for them im not resentful

towards them i just wish i could here from any one thats in the same postion as myself as i didnt think it could cause this amount of damage to make you bedbound..

I am still a young at heart 65yr old have all my factualtys there i was so fit went out with my son and daughter night clubing always dressed in the young fashion cloths hair done up to this happening now i look 90 worked for our own buisness to think Two surgons have took all my quailaty of life away and cant do no more for me im terrified of the results.

so you keep me informed on your progress forget about the staples look to the futre now.keep posting

    take care

    huggs and xxx

I am so so sorry to hear how much pain you are in and what a horrible time you have had.  I really think you might want to find another doctor to consult with about your knee and everything else.  I'm not in the UK but perhaps if you post exactly where you are someone can recommend a qualified  physician who can help you.  Best of luck and sending you healing wishes.

      hugs,

      Dear Christine,

What has appened to you is appalling,I can't even imagine the agony you're in.There must be someone who can help you. Do you have a local radio station or newspaper you could speak to?

How awful! I am sure you can get second , third or even fourth opinions and make a huge fuss about the treatment you have had. Even if it is too late for a formal complaint, and I am not sure it is just a year, write to the CEOs of the hospitals, your local per and radio station will probably take it up

have you been to a Paton clinic?

keep in touch with us all

      Oh Christine,

l don't know what to say. I'm so sorry for the horrendous time you have had. I can only imagine how frustrated you must be. What I will say though is that you can't be left like that. There must be a surgeon somewhere who is skilled enough to be able to put right what these other butchers have done to you. There must be some comeback from the mess they have made, even if it means legal action. I don't know where you are but there are so many solicitors here in the UK who take on medical negligence claims who could get you enough funds to pay a specialist to put things right.

You are one brave, strong and amazing lady to go through what you have and still have some fight in you.

Please keep smiling and keep fighting and hopefully there is an end to this for you.

      Take care.

      Ali xx
