How many staples/stitches?

Hi fellow hippies,

I've had my staples removed this morning and had 37 this time. I only had 28 last time.  This is quite a difference and I can't help but wonder about the reasoning behind it. The district nurse did say that sometimes surgeons put the staples in closer together but seeing as I had the same surgeon both times it makes me curious. Is it possible that the surgeon does the main even then maybe leaves his registrar to close up?

How many have others had? Is 37 a lot?

Thanks everyone.

      Good luck for tomorrow patricia,

I was really worried the first time I had my staples out but it was far easier than I had feared.

      Take care.

I had 32. I do think that the registra quite often does the final closure

I had none a continuous disolveable stitch but it is long at least 18 inches! Surgeons often get reg to do procedure with them assisting or leave them to close up .

Long disolvable running stitch in mine - just needed one external stitch removing by district nurse.  Never had staples even in the two previous hip operations before the thr.
