the problem is benzos in general. whether you take them daily or not. they take your life away and trying to get it back is so hard. only advice i would give is take less until you can get off.

Klonopin is a very potent drug, don't be taken in by what appears to be a small dose, with benzos there is no such thing as a safe one or a 'small' dose.
i am puzzled at the comment it s rx for pain.
btw 1 mgms of konopin is the equivalent of 10 mgs of valium. i would avoid at all costs.

I agree with everything that has been said.
There is no small dose.
I was on .5 mg for 18 months. I did a slow wean off and it was hell.
Even now, being 17 post benzo withdrawal, I am still experiencing protracted withdrawal
Please research. There is a lot of help out there.
Benzo buddies is excellent

Hi Ann
Well that is a really good question......How did I do it?
Purely through patience . There were days I thought I would never get through. BUT, we do.As I am sure you have read, time is the only thing that helps.
I not only withdrew from klonopin but trazodone too. In a total of about 9 months.
Until about a month ago, I would record my days daily and keep a log. Noting how much of the day was a window or a wave. Noting the symptoms when in a wave. I think it helped. I could go back and see how long certain symptoms lasted and when I could see that they had gone.
You asked if it was anxiety. that is the reason I was put on this s**t. Yes, anxiety did play a great part in the withdrawals. Right now, there is only short episodes of that, and |I knew that it would stop.
Last week was a test for me. I came home from being out for a very short time to find my house had been broken into.Coming in and seeing my house had been attacked was truly a test.I went through immediate reaction but \I know everyone would.I am devastated but am very proud of the way I handled it. It took a little over a day for it to really hit me.|There is absolutely no way I could have handled this a year ago.
As they say, it does get better. Not knowing how one day to the next will be is the tough one. Sometimes hard to make plans.
But we all heal, and that is what you have to set your mind to. We truly heal.
If you ever want to PM me, feel free.
