Before you take off make sure your wings are in shape 😂
I flew at 10 weeks. No problem. See what your surgeon suggests. Move those legs

I spoke to my surgeon and he told me to wait at least 6 weeks. Seats in plane are a bit low, cramped and then there's the pressure to cope with.
I travel from uk to Spain 4 or 5 times a year( about 2 1/2 hours). I have always asked for Special Assistance at airport and it's been a great help. I will probably be going away in about a month when it starts to cool abit . X

Completly random Carol, im flying from Manchester, how late in the year
do you go to Spain when the weather is still reliable, I'd hate to put myself
through it and head into the rain. 😎x

Hi ann. It's almost impossible to say what the weather will be like.
i have house there and find August far to hot. Generally September and October are much more bearable, but evenings are cooler. Ive been there at xmas and it's been lovely, I've been the another year and had dreadful floods!
i think it's fingers crossed. Don't forget your special assistance at airport!x

I am 6days post up and plan to take a 2 hour flight in 7 weeks. I have been informed that this is absolutely fine but to wear my compression stockings for the flight. Long haul flight have to wait at least 12 weeks post op and compression stockings also apply. Hope that helps.

My Consultant said wait for 3 months for short-haul and 6 months for long-haul. I patiently waited, counted the days and obediently wore my flight socks.
I am sure others may have different stories to tell. Having had my 2nd on 14/7/17, I have flights booked for 14/10/17!!!
Have a great holiday when it happens.
Best wishes X

Do you really have to fly? You can have an enjoyable holiday without the hassle and discomfort of flying. There are other ways to get around. You could even have a holiday in Britain. I'd only suggest flying if you want to go somewhere that isn't accesible by any other means. Surely most places within a 2 or 3 hour flight are also accessible by sea, a much pleasanter way to travel!

Looked into cruise, drive etc but the thought of being cooped up
in a car for hours is as daunting, I'm being a tad selfish really just
want some sunshine, not much of that in Manchester at the best of
times x

hi ann -
I understand the need for sunshine - no guarantee, however --- weather is very unpredictable, isn't it ... but maybe to just go away will be enough -
do ask for special assistance at airport --- it is a very special feeling to zoom by everybody, get preferred check-in and boarding priviliges ...
One important thing: Get travel insurance and read the small print - if anything should happen that effects your hip, it might not be covered ...
I have worked in Travel Industry for more then 4 decades and have seen it all -- if anything, rules have become more strict ---
please keep us posted !!!

Ha ha Renee that old devil insurance I'd forgotten that, I have
Hughes Syndrome (high risk blood clots) which adds a fortune
cost wise to cover so yes I'll double check that along with the recent Op I'm fully covered.
Regards Annx

You'll have to get to the airport by car and also from the airport at ther other end to your hotel so some car travel is unavoidable.
Have a good time and enjoy the sun. Don't foget that it does rain in Spain too, even if it "stays mainly on the plain."
