How soon can I have 2nd prolapse surgery????

hi SARA, i would get referred as soon as you can. it took me a year to pluck up the courage to go back to see my Gp about re referral even though i knew it had failed within 6 weeks of surgery. i initially went to see the consultant who had done it privately who just referred me back to physio saying it wasn't that bad to re do surgery yet! i then had to wait 18 months on NHS for my consultant appoint at hospital, by which time it was quite bad. however, be careful ...i had hysterectomy as that's what he recommended done vaginally as i still needed the anterior repair doing again...but now i'm left with complications of severe scarring at top where they removed my cervix.....so i cannot have sex at all right now, it also caused shortening of my vagina. the consultant who saw me as emergency just happened to be the same consultant who did my original private surgery!! who is acting as locum consultant on NHS. i've also just had an MRI SCAN because i'm leaking fluid from somewhere and still bleed! PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before embarking on further surgery...would not want anyone to go through what i'm going through. please work hard on doing pelvic floor exercises. you're young at 23 but you also say you've had previous C/s x4 so your child birthing years are over? at 6-8 wks its still very early days with regard to getting your pelvic floor back in shape. it takes about 3 months of repeated exercising daily, maybe give yourself more time? as the referral process takes a long time to get seen, it does no harm to be referred then cancel it if not needed when the time comes.

i am so sorry to hear this! at 24, after my third natural childbirth i had uterine prolapse and had a total hysterectomy. for many years i felt like something wasn't right, so by 56 and two gynos saying i had cystocele and rectocele but enough to do surgery, even though i had severe constipation and got impacted weekly and UTOs with blood in urine repeatedly for last year i finally was referred to a urogyno. i had posterior rectocele repair 5weeks ago. she stated no sex or anything in vagina for 3 mo. im still on maximum laxatives and stool sofeners and still have issues. my stomach bloats n cramps after anything i eat and severe gas. i spotted two days and nothing for another week, and have been spotting since. i only know i need to pee when my abdomen hurts until i stand, then i kmow i need to go.i only need to poop, well know i need to when sitting and i start to hurt but cant go. i can walk around 10-15min and i can poop. i love my urogyno but i don't know, i think there's some blockage when i sit that prevents my food digesting. ive complained for months and no one hears me. the surgery did fix my rectocele but i cant pee if i need to poop and only after poop do i pee even if i feel need to
