How to cope with loss of taste and smell

Hi all,
I am a week into this virus, i lost taste and smell on day 2. My first Q is, if you also lost your smell and taste, when did they return? Secondly, i know this may sound strange but any advice on what to eat? i cant stomach much of anything I've tried- pasta, toast, chicken, rice, chilli, sandwiches etc...
Fruit and jelly seem to be the most palatable but they don't fill me up and i go to bed extremely hungry and just pray tomorrow is a better day but i'm starting to feel weak now and its making me feel really low.
any advice is appreciated 😃

I had it and had no loss of sense of taste

my wife did experience some loss of sense of taste but pretty much back to normal now about six weeks after first symptoms.
What does it feel like when you lose your sense of taste? does your tongue feel numb, or how exactly does it feel?

Hello, i'm on day 8 and i lost my taste and smell on day 4.
I can't taste anything really.... apart from being able to recognise citrus, sugar and spice. So when i drink lemon water, i can tell it's sour but i can't taste the lemon flavour. Because of this, i've been making myself curries and chilli so i can get some sort of satisfaction from the spicy sensations, even though I can't taste what i'm actually eating... how depressing.
I'm not sure what to suggest if you can't stomach those things. I'm the least fussy eater I know and vegetarian based, even though i'm not a veggie... the only thing that I can't stomach so far is eggs. Since I got covid i've been living off veggy chilli with potatoes, spicy pesto pasta with veg and lots of soup. And also fruit, overnight oats, chocolate and loooads of lemon/ginger water.
Take care x
