How to fight anxiety and depressing overwhelming thoughts?

Hi,

I’ve had severe anxiety for awhile now. (I would say 10 months) and I started talking Zoloft 50 mg for it 8 months ago. Two questions though, does Zoloft get rid of obsessive thoughts and does it really help get better? Also, how else can I help myself get back to the happy extrovert person I was before?

Medications reduce or suppress any problems associated with your condition. They generally help the patient to help themselves especially if you have had CBT, the techniques you learn will help you move on.

Generally I find in my case I have had techniques explained to me, with further support at a Day Centre it did help

    HI

A choice of prescribed medication doesn't always work! They may need to increase your dose or try something else! Ask yourself have your symptoms got worse since taking that drug!

Keep talking to your Doctor/psychiatrist and if not satisfied get a second opinion!

Stop being a negative thinker is Step 1. Step 2 is  tell yourself you matter and are significant.
