**Been on for 8 months for insomnia. pdoc says just stop taking it.I know thats wrong. I have 2 mg pills. I take one whole one and split the second one and take 1/2. Does anyone have a weaning schedule that is reasonable to get off this stuff?

look up the ASHTON method. i weaned off 3mg ATIVAN and it took several months using slow reduction liquid titration, and even with slow wean I HAD SOME WITHDRAWALS after, like panic/anxiety, muscle twitching and other things that dr who said to just stop is an IDIOT! YOU CAN HAVE seizures and other problems from stopping abruptly. good luck, you can do it but it isnt easy
